participant was a registration fee payed at the dance school. EUR 1.50 of the registration
fee is paid to “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” “Helping
people to help themselves” is the maxim according to which “Stiftung RTL -
Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” supports exemplary children’s aid projects in Germany
and throughout the world. The association was founded in August 1997.
Its goal is to profoundly improve the outlook on life of children and adolescents in need. The operating principle of the association is to cooperate with acknowledged and experienced relief organizations which have the required know-how in their region. In other words: only registered associations with the same official objectives as the RTL Foundation and which, if possible, are controlled by the German Charity Seal are supported.
Humanitarian commitment has a history at RTL. The private TV channel has been operating since late 1992, first starting out as a partner of UNESCO and later of Caritas, Diakonisches Werk and, since 1998, of other renowned humanitarian institutions as well. This makes RTL a broadcasting channel which is open to all serious relief organizations. As a matter of principle, support by the RTL Foundation does not hinge upon sharing production costs. These are born by RTL.
