Yesterday the WDC and its Officers received the sad news of the passing away of our esteemed colleague Norbert Kalkbrenner. Norbert sadly succumbed to his battle with cancer.
In this most sad of times the President, Board of Directors and all officers of the Competitive Dance and Dance Teachers' Committees would like to express their sorrow and offer their sincerest condolences to Norbert's wife Gabi and his family and friends.
Norbert was extremely well liked by all because of his kind and calm personality, which in conjunction with the highest level of expertise became an invaluable part of the WDC Dance Teachers Executive Board and Committee, on which he served of many years and his contribution was cannot be overestimated.
Only this year, in the face of his illness did he decide to not stand for office, but was a co-opted member of the Dance Teachers' Executive Board.
We all lost a friend and colleague and the only wish I can express is that good may rest his soul and give strength to his family and friends to deal their sad loss.
